Dr. Ruslan Álvarez Diduk obtained his PhD in chemistry at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (México) in 2014. From 2015 to date, he works as a postdoctoral researcher in the Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors group (Prof. Merkoçi). His research focuses on the development of novel nanostructured biosensors using both optical and electrochemical platforms, which are based on point-of-care and low-cost systems. Giuseppe De Rosa is full professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Naples Federico II. His scientific activity is focused on drug delivery systems, especially liposomes, self-assembling nanoparticles and lipid nanoparticles. The scientific production is described in about 110 papers (H-index: 37) on international journals, 5 book chapters and different patent applications (with granted PCT, US and EU patent). One of the products patented and in development received the orphan designation by European Medicine Agency and by the Food and Drug Administration in 2016. For his research activity, G. De Rosa received different financial support, among them one by MIUR (Italian Minister for the University and Research), Ministero della Salute (Italian Minister of Health) and the Phospholipid Research Center of Heidelberg (Germany). G. De Rosa is member of the Editorial Board of different journals in the field of drug delivery and pharmaceutics. He also collaborates as referee with several international journals.

Lopedota Angela Assunta is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology and Regulatory Affairs at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy. In 2023, she achieved national habilitation as a Full Professor. Her research portfolio includes 111 peer-reviewed publications (h-index: 32; 2,684 citations), as well as national and international patents and numerous conference presentations. Her work primarily focuses on developing innovative formulations for age-related conditions, particularly addressing the needs of paediatric patients. Additionally, she specializes in enhancing the biopharmaceutical properties of drugs and the application of mucoadhesive polymers in drug delivery. Angela is also skilled in advanced techniques such as prilling, vibration spray drying, microfluidics, and 3D printing. She possesses extensive teaching experience in Pharmaceutical Technology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in Italy and Albania.

Prof. Rosario Pignatello is Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology and Legislation at the University of Catania. He is the actual Director of the Department of Drug and Health Sciences (DSFS). Carlos J Rodríguez-Hernández received a PhD in Biotechnology in 2006 from the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain). During his PhD training he focused in the molecular mechanism of the diabetogenic properties of the immunosuppressant Tacrolimus. In 2007 he joined the JJ Guinovart's Metabolic Engineering and Diabetes Therapy Laboratory at the IRB-Barcelona to study the antitumoral use of an antidiabetic compound and assess the hepatotoxicity of drugs in development by Noscira (Zeltia).

Since 2007, Dr. Kleva Shpati is a full-time professor at the Department of Pharmacy, Albanian University, and since March 2018 up to date holds the position of Head of Pharmacy Department. Dr. Kleva Shpati is the author of several publications of scientific articles and participant in national and international conferences, as well as co-author of the book for the students of medical sciences and pharmaceuticals "Bio-pharmacy and Pharma-concientics".

Merita Xhetani

Dr. Merita Xhetani is Associate Professor, member of Department of Biology, and Head of the Center of Molecular Diagnostics and Genetic Research, University Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology “Queen Geraldine”, in Tirana, Albania. Her lab’s research is primarily the study of hematopoietic disorders, with a focus on the regulation of erythropoiesis, on disease model development and in particular on gene therapy of β-thalassemia. Recently Merita’s work is focused on applying genome editing tools for genetic engineering of blood cells and contributions to the field involve applying precise gene editing to monogenic blood disorders. She attended many training courses in molecular genetics in different European countries and recently completed her postdoctoral studies in Functional Genomics at LFKRI, Research Institute, New York Blood Center, NY, USA, supported by the Fulbright research program. She is also chair of the Albanian Society of Human Molecular Genetics
